• Professional entries will be displayed, but not judged.

• All art must have the artist’s name, address, and phone number on the back of the art work.
• Each artist may submit a total of 5 paintings for judging. Any painting over this limit will be accepted but will be placed in a separate category that will not be judged.
• Each work of art will be screened before acceptance for the following:
  • The work must have been created by the entering exhibitor.
  • No nude figures or inappropriate paintings will be accepted.
  • Paintings that have been accepted in prior years will not be accepted.
• Pictures must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang.
• Paintings must be dry; media that is still wet will be refused.
• Only residents of Walton County may enter, unless they are members of the Walton County Art League or Chautauqua Porcelain Artists of Walton County.
• Participants will remain with their art pieces until they have been properly logged and tagged.
• Should there be insufficient artists (at least 3) entering a category, entries will be shown but not judged or subcategories will be eliminated and judged under media alone.
• Works entered should be completed within the last two years and not have been entered in the Walton County Fair previously.
• Judging will be based on creativity, principles of design, and technical excellence.
• A maximum of five entries per participant is allowed.
• Decisions of the judges are final. 
• Fine Art entries will be accepted for all media. Artists will fall in one of three classifications: Amateur, Professional (artists earning a major part of income from sales and/or teaching of art), and Youth.

PURCHASE AWARD (Walton County Scenes):  The Walton Co Art League wants to resurrect the long-dormant Purchase Award for the Walton County Fair in which the Art League will purchase a painting from a local artist.  Paintings from previous years are on display at the DeFuniak Springs City Hall.    If you are interested in entering in that category, the rules of entry are found online in the Fine Art category at www.waltoncountyfair.com.  In addition the following also apply:

• The scene must be a recognizable Walton County scene (even if the site is gone, you may submit a painting done from a photo).
• The art must be a painting: oil, acrylics, water color, pastel or mixed media are acceptable (photos are not accepted in the Fine Art category).
• The winning painting is considered a purchased painting, and the owner surrenders all rights to the painting.  The WCAL will hang the painting for display in a local county/city office.
• The painting must be framed and ready to hang (gallery-wrapped canvases, which are those with sides 1 1/2 inches deep or more, need not be framed if the sides are also painted.  Gallery wraps without the wraps (sides) painted, will not be judged for purchase).
• The painting must have been done within the last  year.
• There will be only one purchase award in either of two different size categories: 
• A painting with picture size up to 11 x 14 inches or 154 square inches if selected would be purchased for $100 or any larger painting will be awarded $200.
•  THE AWARD IS AN ACTUAL PURCHASE AND THE ARTIST MUST SURRENDER THE PAINTING TO THE WALTON COUNTY ART LEAGUE UPON ACCEPTANCE.
